Mud Dance: Attention 8th graders! The 8th grade Moving Up Dance is on 5/23 from 6-8. Today, Thursday 5/16, is the LAST DAY to buy tickets! Tickets are $10 each. Drama Club: FULL CAST is meeting after school today in the auditorium from 2:20 – 4:00. (Even though there’s a faculty meeting!) Everyone is expected to attend! Extra pirates, too! See you then!
Track All League Championship: The boys and girls team competed last night at the all league championship. Sienna Gibson had a 4th place finish overall in the steeple with a season best time. Kayla Hallman had a 4th place finish in the league in the 3000, and 5th in the 1500. Jenna Achtyl was coming off injury and had a strong run. Makaylan Johnson had a strong finish in the 4x100 helping her team to a 5th place finish. Jaxson Tocco ran the 3200 and had a strong race. Great work panthers!
Band and Chorus: Congratulations to all student musicians who performed last night in the spring concert. Your preparation is evident as we say, break a leg, for tomorrow’s Darien lake music fest field trip.FACULTY MEETING – NO STAYING AFTER EXCEPT FOR DRAMA CLUB

Drama Club: No Beard, the Crew, all evil pirates and Edwardgene will meet in the LIBRARY and rehearse until 4:00 today. See you then!
JV Girls Softball: The Newfane JV Girls Softball lost a tough battle against Barker 8-9. Marlee Seefeldt had a birthday homerun and struck out 11 players. Rylee Smith had a triple and played a solid first base. Destiny Pitts had a double play tagging the player running to second and throwing the player out at first. Elianna Reis and Addison Reis had solid defensive play along with being strong at the plate. Our last game is Thursday at 7 against Roy-Hart! Come and support us! Go Panthers!
5th & 6th Grade Concert: Tonight is the 5th & 6th Grade band and chorus concert at 7:00 in the Middle School Auditorium. Best wishes to all the musicians!

Peer Mediation: The peer mediation meeting on Tuesday, May 14th after school is canceled.
Modified Track: On Friday the modified track team traveled to Akron to take on the Akron Tigers and the Medina Mustangs. On the track Evan Brown won his heat of the 55 meter hurdles while Avarie VandePut came in a close second. Avarie also won her heat on the 100 meter dash while both Dwayne Dawes and Dominik Flaherty won their heats also. Mackenzie Hill won the 1500 meter run setting a new personal best with a time of 7 minutes and 2 seconds. Bree Joseph won her 200 meter dash race while Ayden Smith and John Murphy got first and second in the boys 200 meter run. Naiten Shorter won the 200 meter hurdles. Colton Amidone won the boys 800 meter run with a new time of 3 minutes and 6 seconds while Macy Andrews won the 800 meter run for the girls with a new personal best of 3 minutes and 11 seconds followed by Mackenzie Hill. The boys 4 by 100 relay team of Carter Wemple, Dominik Flaherty, Ayden Smith, and Dwayne Dawes came in first with a time of 1 minute and 1 second. In the field Zach Meincke threw the discus an impressive 67 feet while Riley McAllister jumped 10 feet 8 inches in the long jump. Teresa Dudek had a strong meet in the 100 meter dash, the long jump, and the shot put. Great meet everyone. Bus leaves at 3 :15 today!
